2. Tales From the Crypt

Tales from the Crypt is one of the best experiences that a horror fanatic can have. The collection of ninety-three episodes spanned across seven seasons were always fun and full of shocking moments. This was another series that truly understood that it didn't need to take itself too seriously. It brought life to so many horror shorts that still hold up to this day.

Based on the EC Comics series of the same name and produced by HBO this show felt precisely like a 1950s horror comic brought to life. The episodes were also full of incredibly notable stars who gave excellent performances. Daniel Craig, Ewan McGregor, Joe Pesci, Brad Dourif, Sanda Bullock were just some of the actors who appeared.

Taking a focus on more adult stories didn't stop this show from having a charming child-like feeling to it that helped to make it simultaneously terrifying and hilarious. A lot of the success of the programme came from how the twisted stories always kept audiences guessing. Some of the best include The Reluctant Vampire, Dead Right and Dig that Cat... He's Real Gone.

Those who have seen the show will know that one of its biggest highlights was its MC the Crypt-keeper. Always poking fun at the characters, making brilliant puns and overall complimenting the narratives incredibly well, this was one of the best holding devices in anthology TV.
