10 Best It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia Characters Only In One Episode

8. Lyle Korman

Fisher Steven’s bar critic Lyle Korman was the perfect foil for the Gang’s most deplorable tendencies, as well as their habit for escalating everything to the extreme. Korman bounces off the Gang with a lot of variety, at times giving them the spotlight and at others stealing the show for himself as his energy spikes.

In a way, the episode marks a defining moment for the show. They’ve certainly had bigger and more outlandish scandals, but Paddy’s Pub: The Worst Bar In Philadelphia represents simpler times. It’s probably not the kind of episode they’d make these days, and represents a slightly more grounded, bar-focussed era.

Though they take more risks and go for more high concepts these days, there’s a lot of love for the more grassroots carnage they used to cause. Lyle Korman is a great example of that, with the actor being hilarious as the critic being held hostage.

Stevens’ Korman fizzes throughout the episode, with the Gang constantly swirling around him. Despite being tied to a chair, he holds his own with them far more than others they’ve come across. A classic guest star in a classic episode.
