10 Best Jobs Homer Simpson Has Ever Had

With Homer having so many jobs down the years, it’s no surprise that so many of them encompass classic Simpsons episodes. Like And Maggie Makes Three, Homer The Smithers and a few more episodes still to come, Deep Space Homer is a Simpsons episode for the ages.

The premise is that NASA wants to boost TV ratings, so following the likes of Home Improvement, decides to hire a blue collar worker to interest the public. Homer and Barney are the two who get the call, with Barney ‘winning’, then crashing out after drinking non-alcoholic champagne.

Homer then wins by the two sweetest words in the English language: default.

In space with Buzz Aldrin, Homer is responsible for some of the most memorable moments in the show’s history. Whether it be Homer floating in weightlessness eating his chips, Kent Brockman overreacting to an apparent uprising of space ants or the inanimate carbon rod getting a hero’s parade, the episode can’t go five minutes without bringing up an all time great Simpsons moment.

Not only is astronaut one of the most impressive jobs Homer has ever had, it was hugely entertaining too.
