10 Best Legend Of Korra Moments

9. The Death Of Noatak And Tarrlok - Endgame

Legend of Korra
Nickelodeon Animation Studio

Amon, aka Noatak, was pretty much the best possible villain you could've started off Korra with. On top of being a villain we had never seen before in the world of Avatar that still felt totally natural to said world, his design mixed with the brilliant voice work of Steve Blum made him an immediately iconic presence.

And while pretty much everything about Tarrlock screamed "I'm a bad guy!" louder and with more repetition than Nicholas Cage screaming about how he's a vampire, I don't think anyone quite saw him being Noatak's brother coming (least of all Tarrlock). Nor did they see Tarrlock being the one to actually off Noatak.

After Korra learns airbending just in time to give Noatak a proper ass kicking, he runs off and retrieves his brother. Tarrlock seemingly leaves with him to help him one day return for revenge. Only, the audience to see what's actually going on. Tarrlock uses an equalist electricity glove to ignite the gas powering the getaway boat, blowing them both to smithereens.

It's a striking, haunting scene, especially when you see Noatak begin to cry, knowing full well what's going on.
