10 Best Movie Parodies In South Park

2. Pet Sematary

This movie has been a goldmine for South Park, major plot points were used in both Season 2's "Spookyfish" and Season 9's "Marjorine".

For "Spookyfish", a pet store owner has upset an Indian burial ground by digging up the bodies and urinating on them, among other things. This causes a portal to open and the town's evil counterparts to show up, including the titular spooky fish. There's also a nice Star Trek parody where all the boys' malicious alternate forms have goatees. Sadly "Spookyfish" is the only time audiences would be allowed to see the Barbra Streisand themed "Spooky Vision", which should be in all Halloween themed shows.

In "Marjorine", the boys need to fake Butters' death, causing his parents to lose their minds and attempt to revive his body by burying him in an Indian burial ground. Just like in Pet Sematary an old guy resembling Fred Gwynne's character shows up to warn them against it: "Sometimes dead is better". This character makes multiple appearances across the entire run of South Park always warning the townsfolk against doing something.

South Park has always done great movie parodies and the horror themed ones are usually some of the best. The Pet Sematary themed ones are the best of the best.
