3. Bob’s Burgers

Rick and Morty
Fox

It’s easy to overlook the charm of Bob’s Burgers, but you really shouldn’t. It uses the simple family set up of mom, dad and three kids, just like so many sitcoms before it; most notably animated heavyweights The Simpsons and Family Guy.

When it debuted in 2010, it was paired with those two shows in Animation Domination to help it find an audience, as Family Guy so often ridiculed it for. Flash forward to today though, and the Belchers are by far the most reliable family of the bunch.

The genius of the show comes from the subtle tweaking of the formula. Typically in these shows, the dad is either the antagonist or the butt of the joke: sometimes both. With Bob’s Burgers though, the whole family is a genuine unit.

They love each other and care for each other, yet still make room for goofball scrapes. Louise and Bob together are especially touching.

It’s downright hilarious, whether that be through the family’s dynamite chemistry, the excellent supporting cast or just the silly burger names. As quick witted as it is daft, Bob’s Burgers reinvented the wheel with style.
