The show takes four, seemingly, separate stories concerning different people who share the same birthday. The stories are slowly woven together through small details, emotional confrontations between the characters and well-written plot twists. The acting is realistic and the characters truly bring their situation to life, in the happiest, saddest, and angriest moments.
While the great writing, visuals, and acting all make This Is Us a hit show in the making, what really hooks viewers are the constant plot twists and surprises waiting around every corner. Seemingly "normal" stories like a bachelor tired of single life, a married couple expecting triplets, and a businessman seeking his biological father, are all worked on and developed is a most shockingly pleasing way.
