7. The Exorcist
This new take on The Exorcist by FOX, follows two priests as they attempt to rid the Rance family of the demonic presence that haunts them, through exorcising their eldest daughter. Geena Davis stars as the mother trying to keep her family together, and brings the role to life in her return to television.
The show brings back memories of the timeless film, while remaining completely unique and original. Expectations were not high for the series, but the acting and writing have proved many wrong, and quickly hooked viewers with the building suspense, dark plot, and terrifying visuals.
The season focuses on one story and so, provides in-depth details, taking its time as it develops and introduces the characters and the setting. Disturbing, captivating, and unique, this new horror show does not fall short and can easily be compared to the movie of the same name we all love.
