10 Best One Time Only Characters In Batman: The Animated Series

4. Maggie Page

Calendar Girl Batman
Warner Bros.

In Eternal Youth, Bristol-born Paddi Edwards voiced a brand new character named Maggie Page. Maggie is a persistent older lady who is interested in the Wayne butler rather than the Wayne fortune, much to Alfred Pennyworth's embarrassment and Bruce Wayne's amusement.

Unfortunately, when Alfred and Maggie substitute for Bruce during a relaxing weekend stay at The Eternal Youth Spa just outside of Gotham City, they also plant themselves (pun intended) right in the middle of Poison Ivy's latest scheme. The fact that the episode is then such an ordeal both for Alfred and for Maggie might explain why this is her only appearance in the series. All the same, it is a shame that she does not return, if only for the comic effect of seeing Alfred squirm.

If you find Edwards's voice familiar, then you may also remember Flotsam and Jetsam in Disney's The Little Mermaid...

Contributor

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
