3. Season 2 - Episode 6
The Epsom races is a heck of a place to stage the final episode to a season and it didn't disappoint.
Inspector Campbell, who had been a thorn in Tommy's side for too long, met his long-awaited demise at Polly's hands, in a moment that made fans everywhere punch the sky in triumph.
The plan to ruin Sabini by ripping off his bets is pulled off rather well and Tommy is able to fulfil his promises lest he is killed otherwise, though Tommy is nearly killed anyway by Sabini's men and is only saved by one Winston Churchill's intervention.
The sight of Tommy standing in his own grave and thinking that his end was finally upon him was almost calming since the show has made a habit of killing off characters without warning. So, when one of the men executes the assassin rather than Tommy, even though sense told you Tommy wouldn't die, it was still shocking to see.
There was so much riding on this episode to see out the second season, and with Tom Hardy's Alfie Solomons' help, the show became so much more than it had been before.
