10 Best Peaky Blinders Episodes

2. Season 3 - Episode 6

Peaky Blinders

The sheer scheming of the third season was a-kin to a John Le Carre novel, every which way the plot could be upended by an enemy or improvised strategy, it was.

Seeing Tommy return to his tunnelling days, as well as the train incident was simply epic storytelling both visually and viscerally. In a series where Tommy loses so much to his enemies, he keeps his cool and even with the kidnapping of his son, manages to pull everything off almost without a hitch. But then, in true season finale style, all of them bar Tommy are arrested for their crimes.

Tommy's showdown with Alfie Solomons, who flip flops more than a fish out of water, is the best scene in the episode. As the two men thunder away at one-another, guns at the ready, it was very much a possibility that either Michael or Alfie wasn't going to make it, and though that situation is avoided, it did strangely bring Tommy and Alfie's relationship to a new understanding.

The episode saw most people get killed and the few who walked away were genuine surprises to the audience that just couldn't predict how this was going to end.
