10 Best Performances In Game Of Thrones
8. Iain Glen - Jorah Mormont
Veteran Hollywood actor Iain Glen was no stranger to genre storytelling with previous credits in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and the Resident Evil franchise, but he managed to excel with the performance of his career as the exiled knight Ser Jorah Mormont. A complicated man, Jorah was originally sent to spy on Daenerys Targaryen but soon fell in love with her committing his life to her quest.
Despite the fact that Daenerys has been aged up in the show, the age difference is still clearly apparent and Jorah could easily have fallen into a very dark portrayal as a creepy old man. It is a testament to Iain Glen that his version of Jorah is quietly tragic and likable throughout the eight seasons of the show. Even with his betrayals and obsession for Daenerys, Jorah manages to be endearing as he dedicates everything to her.
Glen is the perfect supporting player and a lesser actor would try to take the spotlight from his co-stars. Glen remains reserved and knows the he is there to enhance someone else's story. Despite having years more experience than Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, and John Bradley, Glen empowers them in every scene. An incredibly selfless act.
