Carla Espinosa was the backbone of Scrubs throughout her eight-season stint on the show. The head nurse, she was everyone's mentor, and during their times as interns she coached J.D, Turk and Elliot through the hardships of their jobs. She was also one of the few people able to see through Cox's hard exterior, and acted as his voice of reason.

Without Carla, many of the core characters wouldn't have made it very far, and without Judy Reyes, Carla wouldn't have been such a fantastic presence on the show. She was great at her job, loyal to a fault, honest, loving and, yes, often made mistakes.

But Reyes balanced every part of the character with ease, creating a nurse as tough as she was sometimes insecure, and as funny as she was necessary to the lives of those around her. Like Jenkins, she had a hard job, but had no problems knocking it out of the park. One of season nine's many issues was that she was never around.
