10 Best Performances In The Walking Dead

9. Steven Yeun - Glenn Rhee

Walking Dead
AMC

If you were to ask any fan of The Walking Dead, chances are that Glenn Rhee will be one of their favourite characters. Played by Steven Yeun between Season One and the first, soul crushing episode of Season Seven, Glenn had one of the best arcs on the show.

Starting out as a witty, hyper and optimistic young man and growing quickly into a mature, weathered zombie-killing veteran, Glenn's progression is made a constantly intense and shocking affair.

Between Season One and Season Two, Glenn was very much the same - funny, a touch immature, daring. But after meeting his future wife, Maggie (who we'll get to), he suddenly grew up massively and came to realise how much tougher he needed to become in order to survive. And grow tougher he did: After a run in with Merle Dixon, Glenn's previous air of weakness was tossed aside and he emerges in the fourth season as one of the show's most badass characters, a leader and loyal-to-a-fault friend.

Like many other characters on the show, his arc hit some bumps here and there, but thanks to the committed performance of Yeun he never feels forced or boring.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
