10 Best Recurring Sketches On The Kids In The Hall

8. Cathy And Kathie

During the run of Kids in the Hall, AT & Love played an important role as their fictional catchall for the corporate world. Several of their key recurring characters worked there, including Cathy, played by Scott Thompson, and Kathie, played by Bruce McCulloch.

The Cathy and Kathie sketches served two purposes. First, they served to beautifully skewer what was then modern office life. But let's be honest in that it hasn't changed much since those days. The second purpose was the daily lives of single women working as secretaries in that environment. On the face of it, the sketches seem banal but they are brilliant in their subtlety.

Cathy and Kathie were key members of the Kids in the Hall roster. Their sketches were filled with great conversation and amazing banter, especially when the temp Tanya, played by McKinney, was around. They will be necessary in the new era of Kids in the Hall.
