Scientific concepts are genuinely at the core of the show, and this episode is an exploration of divulging realities that make for both a confusing and entertaining half an hour.
Continuing from Ricksy Business, Jerry and Beth are finally unfrozen after all the fun Rick, Summer and Morty have been having; unfortunately, a quarrel between Summer and Morty leads to a rift in time appearing, and the episode follows them attempting to fix this.
The concept of time is played with excellently in this short half an hour of television, with the constant uncertainty of the characters leading to more chaos. The general chaotic feel to the episode is fun to explore, and the conflict at the heart of the narrative makes it all the more entertaining.
In a standout sequence, Rick sacrifices himself knowing he will be erased from existence but saving Morty. Then in a moment of hilarity which ranks as one of the shows funniest, Rick discovers a way to save himself and in the process renounces all of the acceptance he delivered when resigning himself to oblivion.
As with most episodes, the side plot is also compelling, featuring some fantastic development for Jerry and Beth, looking into their relationship dynamic with hilarious outcomes.
