6. Invader Zim

If anyone is a professional at making their own bad luck, it's Zim. An alien from the planet Irk, he was unwillingly sent by The Almighty Tallest to conquer Earth. In case you were wondering, The Almighty Tallest were two Irkens of the same height who co-ruled their empire because they're the tallest members of their race.

An outcast and a failure, Zim weaseled his way into being the Invader assigned to Earth. He was accompanied on his mission by GIR, an erratic robot made out of parts found in a trash can. To say that GIR was detrimental to Zim's mission would be a gross understatement. It's a wonder that Zim wasn't accidentally killed by GIR on multiple occasions.

Invader Zim was a hallmark of early 2000's pop culture and gained a devoted cult following by the time it went off the air in 2006. In 2019, Netflix released an Invader Zim movie that revealed Zim had been lulling his enemy Dib into a false sense of security by hiding in a toilet for an extended period of time. It wasn't a great plan.
