The Venture Bros. is an intricate and well-plotted series that covers a lot of genres, including action, drama, comedy and science fiction. The level of pop culture references in it are off the charts, as well. If you know music, movies, TV, books and comics, you'll get a lot out of this show. That's why it's garnered such a loyal following over the years.

At the core of the story is Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture, a former boy adventurer who has grown into an absolute failure of a super scientist. He lives off the legacy of his father, raising his delusional and sheltered sons, Hank and Dean. The Ventures are protected from their myriad of enemies by Brock Samson, an absolute killing machine of a man.

Airing on Adult Swim for seven seasons, the series was recently cancelled while the team behind it was working on the eighth. Not shockingly, fans were apoplectic. But there might be a reprieve coming from HBO Max who is reputedly interested in continuing the series. Time will tell if this happens or not.
