3. Doom Patrol
Doom Patrol was an unexpected sensation for the DC Universe. While hopes were certainly always high, the slow start to the streaming service's first original show Titans had left fans feeling a little mixed - especially when it significantly improved in the second half - so it was hard to know how the spin-off would fare. And just like the unorthodox group of not-heroes in the show itself, it completely caught us off-guard.
The thing that makes Doom Patrol so great is how it approaches these larger-than-life comic book characters in such a down-to-earth kind of way, making these ludicrously over-the-top concepts and characters seem incredibly endearing - something it accomplishes through some exceptionally-storylined character development.
After impressing viewers with its unabashedly mature tone and well-crafted characters, Doom Patrol will return to the DC Universe (and debut on HBO Max) later this year for its second season, as Jane, Rita, Larry, Cliff, Vic and the Chief all return for more unspeakable madness.
