Scrubs essentially revolved around these two, and no one had any complaints about that. One was cool, one was a loser, but they were perfect together, and their unconventional friendship was the basis for the series.
Again, these two seemed like opposites on paper. On the one hand, you had the daydreaming protagonist JD, whose dorkiness made him feel socially inept at times. Then, on the other hand, was Turk, a confident guy who charmed pretty much everybody he talked to. Still, whenever they got together, they were like a house on fire.
The show handled their friendship very cleverly by having them live together but operate at different sides of the hospital. With JD being a doctor and Turk being a surgeon, they could interact but also had work lives outside of each other. Meaning their friendship never got too much.
