10 Best Standalone Seinfeld Episodes

7. The Subway

Seinfeld The Limo
NBC

Utilising the show's "show about nothing" ethos this self-contained experience confines all four of our leads to a train. Initially, the quarter share the same cargo space, but when they end up spaced out on different carriages, the episode really begins to traverse the intersections.

Elaine has potentially the most subdued experience - but definitely not reaction to it - as power cuts, pedantic passengers and straight-up bigoted, patronising opinions derail her train of thought. George, in traditional Costanza fashion, becomes embroiled in a sexually-fuelled escapade after thinking with his other head - while Jerry sees some nudity that neither he, nor the audience, were quite expecting.

But alls well that ends well! Sorry, that line should've been reserved for Kramer's journey.

Easily the best scenario at play, with some genius writing to boot, and despite having over 30 years to view it, your writer still can't perform such an injustice as to spoilt it. Just know, in an inferior show this would still be a brilliant, moral tale.
