10 Best Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episodes

With his men on the planet Umbarra, Captain Rex finds himself under the command of callous and careless Master Pong Krell, who has no regard for the lives of clones.

The Jedi Master orders Rex and his men to take the planet's capital, despite it being heavily fortified and near impenetrable. Disobeying his orders, clones Fives, Jesse and Hardcase launch a covert op to destroy a nearby airbase, whilst Rex grapples with his need to protect his men and follow the orders of his superiors.

Though it's easy to dismiss the episode as another action-packed adventure in which the clones eventually triumph, Plan of Dissent's focus on Rex's inner conflict make it more about the horrors of war and the need to follow orders than it is about the battles taking place.

Plan of Dissent wouldn't be complete without its following episode, Carnage of Krell, in which Rex and his men attempt to apprehend the villainous Jedi after he deceptively pits two clone factions against one another.

Krell is one of the show's best ever villains, foreshadowing the coming rise of Darth Vader and blurring the line between good and evil until he is finally put down.
