10 Best Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episodes

The single greatest story in the entire show, the Mortis Trilogy sees Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano transported to Mortis, a bizarre, unknown world inhabited by three supremely powerful beings. There's the Son, who represents the Dark Side, the Daughter, who represents the Light, and the Father, who works to keep them in balance.

Trapped, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka come face to face with deceptive visions of old friends and their future selves, and must face the fact that their future is still uncertain. Along the way, the aging Father attempts to get Anakin (the Chosen One) to take his place, whilst the Son tries to kill his Father and make Anakin help him take over the Galaxy.

As Obi-Wan converses with Qui-Gon and Ahsoka is confronted by her older self, the Son shows Anakin his future - in which Padme dies, Palpatine reveals himself, and he becomes Darth Vader.

It's a powerful scene, and serves as a harsh reminder that the show will not have a happy ending.
