10 Best Superhero TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)

This season of Supergirl saw the Girl of Steel go up against the demonic Reign, as she attempted to protect the world (and the future) from the rise of the deadly Worldkillers. Unlike previous outings, Season 3 wasted no time in delving into the villain's story and because of this, it definitely had more of an apocalyptic vibe than before. As Supergirl usually prides itself on its light-heartedness, it was a pleasant surprise to discover that it pulled off darkness so well.

While a series of frustrating creative decisions led to a decline in the second half, there was still a lot to love about Supergirl this year. The reintroduction of Kara's mother (portrayed by Smallville alum Erica Durance) hit viewers right in the hearts while Sam's struggle with her demonic alter-ego added a unique and almost sympathetic aspect to this year's Big Bad.

All in all, Supergirl delivered an impressive third season. While it was far from perfect, there was definitely enough of the show's core elements there to keep us entertained the whole way throughout the season.
