Before describing what Abducted In Plain Sight is, here's a little test: take 30 seconds to think of the most bizarre 'growing up' story you can. Got one? Good. Now, scrap that and bow in awe of what actress Jan Broberg went through in her childhood. It, for lack of a better term, was absolutely incredible.

As a bright-eyed young kid, Broberg was abducted and sexually abused by her adult neighbour more than once. Making things even more horrific, her parents kinda' had a sense for what was going on, but even their criminally absent parenting can't prepare viewers for what happens next.

There's religion, there's talk of aliens, and there's outright kidnapping, and that's just the start.

Hearing Jan's father Bob say, “I tell you, I don’t know how we could have been so gullible when there were so many red flags”, is infuriating. Abducted is the kind of documentary that'll either have you bawling your eyes out at how horrible the world is or punching the TV.
