Evil Genius only lasts for four episodes and has a total runtime of approx three hours, so it's the ideal binge-watch for anyone interested in crime. The cool thing about the mini-series is that it doesn't become bogged down with telling what happened to Brian Wells' in 2003. Instead, it puts keen focus on the case and surrounding circumstances instead.

That's welcome considering the four-parter's relatively short length.

It also means the filmmakers can concentrate more on the 'why' rather than the 'what happened'. The attention shifts to the motivations of those who carried out the bank heist Wells ended up being caught in the crossfire of, and that helps it move along at a searing speed.

Some have opined that Evil Genius would have been better had it slowed down, protracted each minor detail's examination and maybe added a few more episodes so the directors didn't rush. That's a fair point, but they do a fine job of telling the story in a condensed, almost-movie like way.
