10 Best TV Episodes Of 2019

9. A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms - Game Of Thrones

While you could argue that Game of Thrones should certainly win an award for having the Most Episode of TV this year - in that a good chunk of its eighth season was comprised of spectacles the likes of which the small screen has never seen - it sadly made too many missteps to have many contenders for Best Episode.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms though, the second episode of the season and least flashiest, acts as a glimpse of the stellar send off GoT could have had this year. Unlike the rest of the run which was rushed, A Knight essentially acted as one big farewell for the cast we'd come to love over the past decade, allowing the characters to breathe and interact in a way that wasn't totally directed by the needs of the plot..

For some, this was the last time they actually felt like their characters from the past seven seasons, given space to indulge in some well earned emotional crescendos - the best being Brienne's knighting.

It's the kind of calm-before-the-storm episode that Thrones always does so well, only this time with the stakes impossibly high, the writing on point, and still four episodes of possibility to come.
