Parks and Recreation was another show famed for its clever cold opens.

Each one posed a different focus on the residents of Pawnee and got you quickly invested. At times, they would relate to the plot, but often, they'd simply be a fun introduction to the characters and the tone of the show.

One of the best examples was this iconic Ron Swanson moment.

The episode opens with Ron calling for his assistant, April, and expressing his concerns to her about the fact that his computer knows his name. April informs him about cookies and how they recall information to target ads towards him, which seems to cause Ron some anxiety.

This is only made worse after she invites him to look up his address on Google Earth. After doing just that, we cut quickly and hilariously to Ron throwing his computer into a dumpster.

Seeing this play out was fantastic, as the comic timing is on point. It also displayed the depths of Ron's technophobia, April's sassiness and the show's quick joke format. In barely thirty seconds, it captures your attention and gives you all you need to know about the dysfunctional pair.
