10 Best TV Shows That Only Got One Season

4. Freaks And Geeks

Freaks And Geeks
NBC

Freaks and Geeks is such a cult-classic that most people who've never seen the show knows it has a reputation as one of the greatest series to be cancelled after a single season.

It was produced by a pre-fame Judd Apatow, written by a pre-fame Paul Feig and starred a pre-fame James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel. (That's a lot of pre-fames.) As a concept, the show is very simple. The story revolves around high students dealing with bullying, fitting in, drugs, peer pressure, and drinking. In anyone else's hands, Freaks and Geeks would have been just another generic and forgettable high school drama. But since it was produced, written, and acted by comic geniuses at the top of their game, every scene is electric, every line is memorable, and every performance is perfect.

Sadly, NBC pulled the plug on Freaks and Geeks since it wasn't receiving half the viewers as other shows like Frasier and Friends. Judd Apatow tried his best to advertise the show online but was told off because NBC "didn't want people to know the Internet existed".
