10 Best TV Shows That Only Got One Season

3. Almost Human

Freaks And Geeks
Warner Bros

Almost Human is a 2013 series that takes place in the not-to-distant future where cops ally with androids to protect and serve humanity. Karl Urban plays John Kennex; a cop who has a chip on his shoulder after an android refused to save him during an ambush. After he is forced to work with a synthetic called Dorian, the pair form a deep friendship with one another.

The world-building of Almost Human is fantastic, the special effects are great, and the acting is top-notch. It's easy to see why people got hooked on the show...well... while it lasted.

Almost Human has the distinction for being cancelled for, not one, not two, not three, but four separate reasons. First off, it had low ratings. That's enough reason to cancel any show in the eyes of the studio. But not only that, Almost Human was way too expensive to produce. Furthermore, Fox's schedule was booked solid so they had to cancel a few shows to make room. On top of that, Fox believed Almost Human's style was too similar to CSI and the studio wanted to concentrate on a brand-new CSI spin-off (CSI: Cyber) in the future.
