One of the OG raiders in Ragnar's group, Torstein was a brilliant warrior and archer.

He was one of the very few Vikings that always remained loyal to Ragnar and never swayed his beliefs. Floki, Rollo, Siggy, Torvi, and even Lagertha all had their own ambitions that didn't always align with that of Ragnar.

After swearing an oath of loyalty way back in Season 1, Torstein remained as loyal as ever and accompanied the group on numerous raids.

During Horik's betrayal, Torstein was among those that the treacherous King wanted dead and charged Floki with poisoning him. Instead, Torstein posed as Ragnar to lure in Horik and trap the King so that they could be rid of him once and for all.

Unfortunately, when returning to England and battling against the forces of King Brihtwulf, Torstein was struck in the shoulder by an arrow. Despite breaking it off and carrying on, the wound eventually became infected.

While fighting a fever, he eventually asked for Floki to amputate his arm. With no sign of improvement, Torstein realised his time is almost up. Instead of dying on a sickbed, he mustered up the strength to be a distraction for Ragnar's army and even managed to kill a soldier using an arrow shot in his leg.
