5. Siegfried

Ragnar Lothbrok Death Vikings
History

Similar to Frodo, Siegfried only made a brief appearance on the show - but oh boy, what an appearance it was!

Introduced through Kalf when Ragnar planned on raiding Paris, Siegfried is a towering man standing at 6'6" tall.

Over the course of the raid in Paris, Siegfried fought in many of the battles and even formed a strange bond with Sinric, Ragnar's guide and interpreter.

While Sinric was not a fighting man, Siegfried nevertheless forced him into battle with him for reasons that are never explained in the show. Maybe he thought it was funny? Maybe he wanted to guard him? Who knows.

Both he and Sinric were captured on a second failed attempt at breaching the city. Sinric was spared but Siegfried was sentenced to death. Though he was executed, he proved to have some excellent gallows humour by requesting a guard hold his hair while he was being decapitated.

Just before the axe hit, however, Siegfried pulled his head back causing the executioner to cut off his fellow soldier's hand. Siegfried made no attempt at escaping and instead remained there, laughing maniacally to himself.
