5. Endgame - Season 2, Episode 20
“Endgame” was the epic finale no one wanted but fans everywhere were forced to swallow.
The episode also unveiled Vandal Savage’s true plan. The villain hijacked the War World and declared the Earth as the supreme planet in the universe. Then he reveals he is working with the most evil of all DC villains - Darkseid - in an elaborate criminal conspiracy.
After the Vortex Bombs stop wreaking havoc on Earth’s magnetic field, a final one pops up in Antarctica at a point in which it’s too late to defuse. Flash and Impulse attempt to stop it, but it turns out not to be enough. Wally attempts to help them but gets hit by an arc of energy created from the Vortex.
The Speedsters eventually stop the threat, but unfortunately, Wally ends up being disintegrated. After 46 episodes of getting to know the team, this was an emotional ending, with the heart-wrenching loss of Wally exemplifying how fans felt about losing the show along with him.
