The hit on Lalo's mansion was another intense moment in the show that kept its audience on the edge of their seats for a variety of reasons.

In the last episode of season 5, "Something Unforgivable", Nacho Varga, after gaining Lalo's trust, gets invited to his mansion, where he is introduced to Lalo's so-called "family" of workers and guardsmen. He's supposed to spend the night there, but unbeknownst to Lalo, Nacho is tasked with opening the gates for Gus Fring's assassins, who are going to deal with the cheery Salamanca once and for all... or so they thought...

Using nothing but his own wits and ruthlessness, Lalo takes out all of the assassins one by one. The many scenes of him fighting the group of armed-to-the-teeth hitmen are so intense, you can't help but root for the guy, even though you know he is the main antagonist of the story. There's just something so compelling about seeing Lalo defeat a professional killer with just his frying pan!

In addition, as if Lalo hasn't already earned his title of badass, the scene doesn't end when he makes his escape using a secret tunnel underneath his mansion. No, Lalo decides to go right back in and take out all of the remaining assassins, just because they messed with the wrong guy. The shot of him walking towards his burning home was a chilling way to end the season.
