10 Better Call Saul Moments That Broke TV

4. Nacho's Last Stand

Better Call Saul
AMC

The scene of Nacho's suicide in "Rock and Hard Place" was an intense and heartbreaking moment, but it also managed to give Nacho's character the most satisfying conclusion imaginable.

Let's face it—there was no happy ending for Nacho. His life in the cartel was a constant struggle against powerful people, who used him as a pawn in their own twisted games. He was bound to wind up dead at some point, but to see him use his final moment to take up a stance against his oppressors was exactly what his character needed.

The scene shows Nacho at his lowest. He gets "captured" by Gus's men, so that Gus can use him one last time in his schemes against the Salamancas. After all that Nacho had done for Gus, he was going to be shamed, disgraced, and sacrificed just so that the latter could gain an alibi in the face of the cartel. Gus wanted one of his men to shoot Nacho as he would pretend to try and get out, but instead Nacho decided to finally stand up for himself. He tells off both Gus and the Salamancas and then shoots himself in the head, proving that there was at least one thing his employers couldn't take away from him.

Michael Mando's performance in this scene is some of the most memorable acting on TV. He portrays his character's frustration perfectly, delivering the rawest form of anger as he speaks of the twisted nature of Gus and Hector.
