10 Big Questions Raised By Agents Of SHIELD Season 2 Trailer

4. Is The Show Going To Involve More Espionage Than Before?

If Skye's secretive abseiling wasn't enough to convince you that Agents of SHIELD looks like it's getting a lot sneakier than it was the first time around, perhaps Coulson's voiceover will do the job: "And then we'll disappear. Become ghosts. That's how we have to live now. In the shadows. To protect the innocent. To save lives. Even when they don't know it." Sounds to us like Coulson doesn't want the world to know SHIELD exists any more, and that's just fine with us. Did you see what Melinda May was wearing when she sent Creel flying? Not her standard-issue leather duds, that's for sure. SHIELD is going covert (well, moreso) and that's a very good thing for fans of spy stories that actually have a little bit of espionage in them. The last part of Coulson's speech - "Even when they don't know it" - echoes the events of the episode where his team defended the cellist, Phil's old flame, without her ever knowing he was involved. Was this just a statement of SHIELD's intent to hide "in the shadows", or perhaps a hint that we'll see more of Amy Acker's musician in season 2?
