10 Biggest Doctor Who Leaks Ever
7. The 60th Anniversary's Surprising Monsters Revealed By On-Set Photos
If there's one thing that Russell T Davies should've remembered from his previous era, it's that filming on location inevitably leads to plot details, returning actors, or returning monsters being leaked.
It's presumably for that reason that the casting of David Tennant, Catherine Tate, and Yasmin Finney in the 60th anniversary specials was announced to the world the day before they arrived on location.
The first day of filming for Tennant and Tate predictably caught the attention of fans with smartphones, who flocked to the set. Photos were snapped of the much-missed Bernard Cribbins in character as Wilf, as well as Donna's mother Sylvia, and her husband Shaun. It's now a foregone conclusion that Finney is playing Donna and Shaun's daughter, Rose.
However, RTD clearly underestimated the appeal of Doctor Who Magazine's classic comic-strip villain Beep the Meep. The photos of Beep, and the insectoid aliens that are hunting him down, predictably lit up social media, with fans speculating about Davies potentially remaking the classic Doctor Who comic The Star Beast. Time will tell!
