10 Biggest Ongoing Criticisms Of The Walking Dead

4. Repetitive Philosophical Conflicts

In short: Rick€™s way is right. He may not always have the moral high ground but the show has proven time and time again that it€™s on Rick€™s side and that his cynicism and distrust is almost always warranted. Unfortunately, it€™s not very exciting if everyone just buys into his way of thinking without any sort of conflict.

Enter his detractors: those who want to take a peaceful approach to things, who want to hide away. It€™s happening right now in Alexandria and it€™s not the first time. This was a role routinely played by Lori in the earlier years, and largely contributed to why the show had suffered in the aforementioned female character development area. In addition to Alexandria, recent episodes have shown this attitude in the Hilltop Community as well.

It€™'s clear that people don€™t agree with Rick€™'s violence and want to talk problems out. And while this trope may represent a temporary annoyance, its redeeming feature is that those who oppose Rick are often met with quite a satisfying awakening to his point of view.
