10 Biggest Plot Holes In Buffy The Vampire Slayer
5. Vampires Entering Homes
The vampires of Sunnydale have no problem entering public buildings. The Bronze and Sunnydale High are often attacked, which usually ends in a violent tussle between the Slayer and her foes.
Houses, on the other hand, are more problematic. Supposedly, vampires can only enter someone’s home with their permission. Fully aware of this fact, the Scooby Gang use it to their advantage numerous times throughout the show.
But sometimes, this rule is completely abandoned. When Angel loses his soul in Season 2, he has no difficulty entering Enyos’s house and committing murder. And it’s the same in Season 4 when Spike enters Willow’s dormitory at UC Sunnydale – he just strolls in without a care in the world.
Given this rule is a fundamental plot point in several episodes, completely removing it wouldn’t have worked. But it would have been nice if the writers didn’t ignore their own rule from time to time.
