The First Evil plays mind games with our favourite characters throughout the show’s final season, and this wicked entity is assisted by the ubervamps, a powerful horde of vampires with advanced speed and strength.

Buffy – a veteran Slayer with more than five years’ experience – gets beaten to a pulp by one of these beasts in ‘Bring on the Night’. And in the following episode, she just manages to take down her first ubervamp.

But if we jump to the final episode, the ubervamps are nowhere near as powerful. Though they’re still threatening, the younger Slayers have no trouble taking them down despite their lack of experience. And the writers make no attempt to explain this either – we’re just supposed to accept it.

To make matters worse, there’s an entire army of ubervamps beneath Sunnydale High, so even if they were weakened, our heroes should have been overwhelmed by these monsters – there are literally hundreds of them!
