10 Biggest Rick & Morty Controversies

Out of all the dark moments on Rick and Morty, Meeseeks and Destroy managed to take things a little too far. While the Meeseeks were terrorising the town and trying to kill Jerry, our titular duo were off on an adventure of their own.

Having allowed Morty to choose the adventure, Rick spent the entire time complaining. Growing tired of it, Morty finally snaps and gives his grandpa a piece of his mind before storming off. While in the bathroom, he is approached by King Jellybean and things quickly take a dark turn.

What follows is a grim scene in which a jellybean creature tries to force himself on the young boy. Morty manages to fight his way out of it, but fans still felt it was a bridge to far. Message boards filled with backlash to the scene, calling it disturbing and impossible to unsee. While King Jellybean gets what he deserves as Rick figures it out, it still scarred viewers and stands as one of the most uncomfortable episodes to date.

The backlash was so severe that Justin Roiland had to publicly address the scene, insisting that the scene was not created to play out for laughs.
