7. Familiar New Show
Stars of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck were on hand, along with the showrunners and writers, to give hints on what to expect from the upcoming series.
Due to the lockdown, there has been no production underway, yet the writers' room has been as busy as ever, something Romijn was quick to confirm. She teased a very interesting and emotional backstory for Number One, something she was very excited to talk about - even though she couldn't!
Mount and Peck both spoke to the fact that the show will be bringing back, not just the episodic format, but a sense of hope that Discovery has been lacking (up to this point). Mount joked that the series only got the greenlight because the sets had already been built!
Writer Akela Cooper spoke about the importance of keeping the legacy of Star Trek alive - one of inclusion and diversity - something that she is excited to bring to the series proper.
There was not much more, again due to the current situation, but it is clear that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds looks like it will be an exciting and fun-filled affair.
