7. Did Rembrandt Make It Back Home? - Sliders
Sliders featured the adventures of a group of people travelling through parallel dimensions, and it ran for a healthy five seasons. The last episode ends with the gang deciding if they should slide to the next world, which could be the universe they originally came from, as a psychic has predicted a dire fate for them if they do.
Team leader Rembrandt decides to risk it and go first, telling the others that if he fails the psychic will tell them and they can survive in their current universe. He goes through and the psychic immediately dies of a heart attack, leaving the others no way of knowing if Rembrandt made it.
When word arrived season five was to be the last the producers decided to end it on an almighty cliffhanger to rally fan support so they could bring it back. Sadly for them, the idea tanked hilariously and while there was brief talk of a movie to wrap it up as of now Sliders hasn’t returned in any form. But who knows, there might be a parallel dimension where it's still running.
