7. Jack Welker Lives In An Alternate Timeline - Breaking Bad

Speaking of time travel, Breaking Bad may have slipped some timey-wimey shenanigans of its own into its modern day Shakespearean tragedy. It's either that, or lazy writing from showrunner Vince Gilligan. You may choose whichever option helps you sleep better at night.

In one episode, Jack Welker is talking to his nephew Todd about a series of ten prison murders they managed to pull off together. They're pretty proud of their accomplishment, with Jack going so far as to say that the operation was more difficult than the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.

Hang on a tick... Yes, this episode aired in 2012, a full year after Bin Laden's death. However, according to the chronology, the episode itself is set some time between 2008 and 2010. There's no way Jack could have known exactly how the founder of Al-Quaeda was going to be located and killed in the future of 2011.

Unless... Jack lives in an alternate dimension where Bin Laden has been dead for years.

As interesting as this theory could be to explore, Vince Gilligan instead chose to own up to his sloppiness:

"The writer said to me: 'I thought this show took place in 2007, and it's only been a year since then, but last week you had someone mention the Osama bin Laden assassination. How do you reconcile that?' I had to say, 'Well, honestly, I don't.'"
