Aaron Martin's anthology series, the appropriately named Slasher, has flown under the radar in recent years. Despite being acquired by Netflix after the show's initial success, Slasher has been moved back to Shudder for its latest bloodthirsty outing. However, the grisly anthology's under-the-radar success has been highlighted by four successful seasons to date, with a fifth recently ordered.

As each of the aforementioned seasons have focused on a different unhinged serial killer, the catalogue of WTF moments that feature within Slasher is like reading some kind of depraved shopping list. However, one demise is notable for the unbelievably gruesome manner in which the killer dispatches his victim; viewers are left open mouthed with horror, at a loss for words as to how someone could even envision such a horrendous death, let alone bring it to life in high definition.

The appalling death in question is perpetrated by the Druid, the primary masked antagonist, in the very first episode of Slasher's third season Solstice. The victim in question is Cassidy Olensky, a caricature of a typical obnoxious high school student with disturbingly racist overtones. While the nature of her character means that she is not missed in the slightest, the sheer brutality of her death is notably memorable.

The killer traps Cassidy in a toilet before dunking her head in a toilet that is revealed to be full of acid. What ensues is one of the most appalling death scenes ever seen on television, that left the audiences legitimately shaken and asking one simple question: who the f*ck thought up that nightmare?
