3. The "Curved Television Screen" Fad Will Finally Die
Remember when, seemingly completely out of the blue, television manufacturers began shuttling out curved TV screens? Remember how we were told they were the future of television, and how they provided a more tangible, immersive experience? Now answer this: do you know anyone who actually bought one? Okay, so there are bound to be people out there who do, and who maybe even have one themselves, but that doesn't mean that the curved television screen is nothing more than a fad that's on its way out. The proof? Well, aside from the fact that general critical consensus is that curved screens do basically nothing to enhance viewing experience or picture quality (and can actually diminish the experience when viewed from a certain angle), it seems even industry-leaders are beginning to give up on the trend. In early 2016, for example, LG debuted its new line of TVs, opting to go for super-thin displays rather than curved. There's also the fact that curved TVs, owing to their unusual design, are considerably more expensive than the flat-screen equivalent. Consumers understand bigger and they understand thinner, but they don't understand paying more for curved.
