At this point, it just makes sense. The CBS reboot of the 1968 original started with a healthy run, but after six seasons, it's finally going to be put to bed. All signs point in this direction. For a start, the sixth season experienced the lowest premiere ratings of the show's history (not to mention being one of the worst viewed CBS shows during its premiere week). As well as that, the show has syndication deals lined up, so its set to keep providing CBS with a revenue boost regardless of whether or not new content is being created. But the real kicker? The cast contracts reportedly expire at the end of the sixth season, making the decision to axe the show a total no-brainer.
