Alyson Hannigan was already breaking out as a star while on Buffy, thanks to appearing in American Pie (you know the line, we don't need to say it... okay, this one time, at band camp!). So it's no surprise that she would go on to another hit show, along with some successful side trips along the way. After Buffy ended in 2003, Hannigan would reprise her role of Willow for the animated series that sadly never got off the ground. She continued appearing in the American Pie movies, and even turned up alongside Charisma Carpenter over on Veronica Mars. Of course, her biggest achievement would be How I Met Your Mother, which is now the show she is arguably better known for than Buffy. Now that How I Met Your Mother has come to an end, maybe it's time Whedon and Hannigan teamed up again? Just a thought...
