10 Buffy & Angel Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

2. Miles To Go / 7-3-0 / Restless

Episode: Graduation Day, Part 2, Restless (Buffy, Season 3, 4) "Miles to go/Little Miss Muffet/Counting down from 7-3-0." That cryptic line was uttered by Faith in a dream shared with Buffy in the season three finale, "Graduation Day, Part 2." Roughly two years later, Buffy would be dead. It's one of the most famous easter eggs among Buffy fans, a shining example of how much though was put into the show's storylines, and how far ahead the writers were in planning things out. 730 is, of course, 365 twice, and Buffy's death was already being foretold. The line is a reference to Robert Frost's "Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening" which reads "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep." The Frost poem is itself a reference to death, and another clue that Buffy would bite the big one at some point, but no one really believed at the time that it would happen, until season five was well under way at least. And then came "Restless," the bizarre season finale of the fourth season, which took place entirely in the dreams of Buffy and her friends, where the "first slayer" attempted to kill them. Loaded with easter eggs, clues to upcoming seasons, and general oddities (the cheese man), an entire article could be dedicated to "Restless" - but we'll stick to how it related to Buffy's eventual demise. In a dream in which Tara appears, Buffy looks to a clock displaying 7:30 and states "It's so late" to which Tara replies "Oh ... that clock's completely wrong" - a nod to the fact that Buffy's demise was now just 365 days away. This same episode, and "This Year's Girl" in season four, also refer to the coming arrival of Dawn Summers.
