Introduced in Season 7's Stench and Stenchability offering, Marianne is a flower vendor with no sense of smell who serves as a love interest to fan-favourite Zoidberg.

The episode follows Zoidberg's hopeless love life, revealing that his terrible odour is the reason he is rejected by women everywhere. When he meets the beautiful Marianne, it seems as though love might be on the cards for the Planet Express doctor, after all.

When Marianne asks him if he'd be able to fix her sense of smell to allow her to smell the flowers she sells on a daily basis, Zoidberg has something of a crisis of conscience that serves as the episode's focal point.

Marianne's familiar voice was all too easy to overlook, though.

Emilia Clarke, better known as Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen on HBO's Game of Thrones, lent her voice to the character. Her appearance came while Game of Thrones was at its peak, which makes it all the more surprising that her voice wasn't as obvious as you'd think.
